Enjoy a Walk in Penn's Woods on Sunday, October 1st

Join one of over 60 events being held as part of the statewide Walk in Penn's Woods!

September 28, 2017

Locally, you can visit the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority's
environmental education center (1600 Mosquito Valley Rd. Williamsport,
PA 17702) and take a hike on the Bluebird Trail. As part of the open
house you can check out the "water bugs" the County's Watershed
Specialist and Lycoming College's Clean Water Institute collect, look
for birds with Lycoming Audubon, or see a demonstration of how streams
erode and move sediment.

There will be demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to ask
questions. You can also learn about how this protected watershed helps
to provide clean and abundant public water to the Greater Williamsport
area.

The open house is from 12:30pm to 4:00pm. A group walk with a guide
will be at 2:00pm, but you're more than welcome to take your own walk.

asking participants to meet at Goose Cove Pavilion #1 for the 1:00pm
walk. A Penn State Master Gardner will be leading the gentle, 1-mile
walk.
