On October 28, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.(Run/Walk) and 9:30 a.m. (Kids' Fun Run with a new route) , the Organization of Parents and Teachers (OPT) will host the seventh Annual Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Fun Run. Proceeds from this event will be used to continue to support programs, activities and supplies offered for the students of Ward L. Myers Elementary School such as all class field trips, Newspaper in Education, Girls on the Run, classroom American flags, Thanksgiving baskets, educational concerts and assemblies, etc. This event will begin at the school and participants will make their way through the historic town of Muncy.Who

The course begins with a gradual incline. Then the route is downhill to flat with a turn-around at the halfway point and a slight incline to the finish. The start and finish lines are located at Ward L. Myers Elementary School entrance. Start time is 9:30 am. Free parking available.There will be one water station at the 2.5K point and at the finish line.The 5K event will be officially timed if selected and pint glass trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each of the age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. The Kids Fun Run will take place at 9:30 am. The course will be one mile and take place on the 5k course this year and start TWO minutes after the 5k start. The KFR start times will be staggered by age groups, beginning with the older children first. Those choosing to be officially timed for the kids run will still have their times calculated for awards. Kid friendly obstacles will be on the course, however, it is not necessary for children to complete the obstacles.
