Handprint Tree
Supplies:
- Blank Canvas (8x10 preferably)
- Paint Brush (2)
- Green Paint (dark and light)
- Brown Paint
- Black Marker/Paint Pen
- Any other paint to add extra details (optional)
Directions:
- Have your child paint a tree trunk with branches or you can do this (depending on child's age). Let try a few minutes.
- After the tree trunk has dried, paint your child's hand dark green. Place on the branches. Alternate dark and light till you are happy with how it looks. If you have more than one child, then paint their hands different colors.
- Allow the canvas to dry. Once dried your child can add some details (if they wish). Some ideas to add: birds, apples, acorns, etc.
- Once all done and dry, you can add a saying at the bottom. Some examples: "No matter how tall I (we) get, I (we) will always look up to you."; "From little seeds grow mighty trees. Thank you for helping me grow."; and "You gave me the roots to grow. Thank you." You can come up with your own saying as well.
- Put your child's name and date on the back so you can remember their age when they did the craft!
**Note: You can do fingerprints on the branches instead of the handprint for something different.**
That's it! A fun and thoughtful gift for those special people in your child's life. They are sure to cherish!
