Are you looking for a way to give back to your community?  Does your daughter or granddaughter need something fun to be involved in?  Check out Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania!  Read on for more information about this WONDERFUL opportunity in our backyard.

Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) is a team of passionate volunteers and staff who foster girls’ creativity, curiosity, and adventure into fun events and virtual activities, outdoor experiences, and STEAM along with badge and patch-earning activities for over 13,500 girls across 30 counties in Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Williamsport area is currently made up of 261 Girl Scouts, 66 Troop Leaders, and 35 Troops throughout Clinton, Lycoming, and Sullivan Counties. GSHPA is always looking for more Troop Leaders to provide the amazing opportunity of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place for girls in grades K-12.

If you are looking for an opportunity to give back to the community, but also quality time with your Girl Scout, leading a Troop might be for you! Troop Leaders come in many shapes and sizes: Moms, Dads, Friends, Neighbors, Teachers, Grandparents, Community members, Girl Scout Alumni, or anyone passionate about our mission. No Girl Scout experience is required to become a Troop Leader; GSHPA Staff members will be here to support you every step of the way and provide a comprehensive onboarding experience so that you feel comfortable in your role.

When becoming a Troop Leader, you'll help girls make new friends, challenge themselves, write their own stories, and take action to change the world for the better. How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience; Girl-Led: Girl Scouts follow their own lead, no matter their age. Learning by Doing: Hands-on activities help them feel empowered to shape their own experience. Cooperative Learning: With a tight-knit group of friends, Girl Scouts learn and grow together while cheering on each other. With the help of supportive adults and troop leaders who bring those processes to life, Girl Scouts discover who they are, what they care about, and what their talents are, connect with other people, both locally and globally, to learn from others and expand her horizons, and do something to make the world a better place.
