Looking for a new destination to visit?

Need a friends' trip get-a-way?

Well, you definitely need to check out Charlottesville, VA for your next trip!

My best friend and I decided to do a girls' trip recently.  She is in North Carolina and I am in Pennsylvania.  We decided to meet half way and discovered the neat city of Charlottesville.  If you have never been, I highly recommend a trip to this AMAZING city.

To me, this city feels more like a town but bigger!  This trip was TWO years in the making for us, but once we settled on a city, the next challenge was deciding on a hotel.

My BFF and I both had different opinions on where to stay, but it was an UNAMIOUS yes for Hyatt Place Charlottesville!  I love staying at a Hyatt.

Hyatt Place Charlottesville was a beautiful hotel that had all the amenities that you needed and none that you didn't.  If you book a stay at Hyatt Place Charlottesville, you have many options on your room type.  We booked a room with two queen beds on a high floor.  In our room we had a flat screen TV, mini-fridge, alarm clock, and shower with a bath tub.  The hotel also had other amenities available to us like a microwave, restaurant, bar, free breakfast, room service, and more.

The hotel had an indoor swimming pool and fitness center for guests to use.  I enjoyed the fitness center and I was not the only one taking advantage of this amenity.  The fitness center was PACKED the day I used it.

The fitness center has a full range of free weights, an adjustable flat bench, three treadmills, an elliptical, bike, and yoga ball. EVERYTHING in the fitness center was in use when I was in there.  The fitness center even had complimentary ear phones for you if you forgot yours!   The hotel provided sanitization spray and paper towels to wipe down your machines after use.  The fitness center was definitely an added bonus for me and I was happy to be able to use it.

The swimming pool would have been great to use if we would have brought children with us on this trip.  It was a nice size with easy access into and out of the water.  The water is kept at a nice temperature and there was plenty of seating for adults to be able to watch the kids swim.  I know my two kiddos would have LOVED the pool.  This hotel is great for families and offers some fun things to do with the kids.

Staying at Hyatt Place Charlottesville has many options when it comes to your room choice.  You can choose from a basic room or indulge yourself and go with a suite!  The rooms are spacious in themselves and have a "cozy corner" with a sofa and plenty of seating.  They even provide a book on all things Charlottesville!  We really enjoyed this aspect of the room.  Each room has a beautiful vanity with plenty of space to spread out your toiletries and make yourself at home.  Of course, there is a large screen TV that you can connect to and watch ALL your favorite shows from you favorite subscription services.

While staying at the Hyatt Place Charlottesville, you will be taken care of by some AMAZING staff members.  From the front desk clerks to the cleaning staff to the bar tender, you will be well cared for and assisted whenever!  We needed our room vacuumed in the evening and the staff members were ready to assist and take care of us.  They came right up and vacuumed for us and were very pleasant and upbeat the whole time!  There is something to be said about those that live in the South.

We picked Charlottesville, VA for two reasons: 1. it was half way between us and 2. because we learned that there was a lot of fun to be had in the city. The one attraction to this area is the Historic Downtown Mall.  This place is AMAZING.  We spent all day on Friday walking around and enjoying the mall area.  There were plenty of places to dine and take in the sights of the downtown.  Our favorite places were Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint Charlottesville and The Whiskey Jar.  Both places had mouth-watering food and fabulous drinks.  If you go, be sure to try the burger special at Jack Brown's and the Mac & Cheese at the Whiskey Jar!  We could have spent hours hitting up all the fun restaurants.

There were plenty of unique shops and stores that you could get lost in.  Some of our favorites were Alakazam Toys, Kilwins, Caspari and 2nd Act Books.  Alakazam Toy is a cute toy store for kids of all ages.  My kids got spoiled with some fun toys and they are sure to love the fun activities the Easter Bunny will be bringing them!  If you are looking for mouth-watering chocolates that are as fresh as you can get, be sure to visit Kilwins!  It smells AMAZING in there.  Caspari was a cute shop with such elegant items and cute napkins!  2nd Act Books is an unique book store that has more than just books and you can trade in books for books!  My favorite thing was the jigsaw puzzle that they had out for everyone to help put together.  I was able to put together a secion of the puzzle.

There is even more to do then just shop!  You can try your hand at an Escape room, enjoy a nice massage or even make your own terrarium!  One of our highlights of the day was dropping into the Plant Studio!  Terri is an AMAZING owner and sweet as pie.  I recommend if you ever head to Charlottesville that you stop in and see her.  My friend and I had so much fun making our own terrarium.  For as little as $35.00 you can take home a beautiful terrarium that you made and remember your trip.  We also enjoyed our salt room experience at Halo Salt Spa.  We got some discounted coupons from a site and enjoyed relaxing for 45 minutes to the sounds of ocean waves!  There is definitely plenty to do in Charlottesville from exploring the downtown to enjoying some locally made beer!  You will have a BLAST in Charlottesville!

Another attraction that we liked was the Shops of Stonefield that was just steps away from the hotel.  There were plenty of shops and places to eat.  There are several bigger named stores along with some unique shops and boutiques.  The food in the shopping plaza didn't disappoint either!  We enjoyed some tasty nachos at Champion Grill.  One thing I loved about all the food places we went they had board games and card games to play.  We enjoyed playing some cards and games at the different breweries we visited.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place Charlottesville and exploring the town of Charlottesville, VA.  We can't wait to head back next year!  If you are looking for a new place to visit and a hotel to stay in, I highly recommend heading to Charlottesville and staying at Hyatt Place Charlottesville!
