If you are looking for a fun, family-friendly adventure and get away I couldn't recommend Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA anymore!

I think we all know how frustrating it has been in the last year or so with planning trips to just have them canceled or not wanting to go to a place with a bunch of people (thanks COVID).  Everyone needs to start living their lives again and enjoying the world around us, whether it be flying to a tropical island or staying closer to home!

We were lucky to be asked to enjoy a family glamping trip at Blue Mountain Resort.  Blue Mountain Resort hosted my family and me for a wonderful weekend in the woods!  Complete with meals and several adventures.

Arrival

Once we arrived at the resort and checked in, the AMAZING staff was ready to serve and assist us with unloading our vehicle and packing the UTV with all our belongings.

If you are staying in one of their Deluxe Glamping sites, you get a chauffeured UTV ride to your site.  We had the pleasure of having Josh as our driver.  He was FANTASTIC and super kind to our children.  They were excited to head down the hill in the UTV with all our stuff.

Josh drove us to our site and helped us unload.  On our ride down the hill, he informed us of interesting information about the resort and ski area.  Once at our site, he went over EVERYTHING there was to know about our Glamping Site and the amenities.  My husband and I have been camping for many years, but he still went over all the items and informed us how to use the amenities that come with the site.

Resort and Adventures

This resort is not just a ski resort, it is MUCH more!  This is definitely the place to go for all your family fun.  We only saw a small portion of it, and we can't wait to head back next summer and possibly this winter.  It is truly AMAZING how ski resorts have upped their game to make the resorts a year-round destination.  This resort is different in that you can camp alongside one of their many ski slopes.  Having been on a few ski slopes in my younger years, it was neat to see one in the summer!

Blue Mountain Resort has serval areas that you can explore, and they also can set you up with a river rafting adventure.  At the resort itself, you can enjoy many family-friendly activities from rock climbing, to ropes courses, to laser tag, and many more.

Outdoor Adventures
Mountain Biking
Laser Tag
Archery Tag
Disc Golf
Scenic Lift Rides
  • Ropes Course
  • Adventure Tower
  • Rock Climbing
  • Night Time Zip & Climb
  • Birthday Parties

We were given the opportunity to enjoy a few hours at the Summit Adventure Park.  Our kiddos, my husband, and I tried the Sunshine Course at the adventure park.  It was a fun course that our 5-year old's could enjoy and after going through it with us once, they set off on their own!  They had a BLAST and didn't want to leave.  I highly recommend taking advantage of the Summit Adventure Park!

Blue Mountain Resort also provided the opportunity to enjoy a Scenic Lift Ride on one of their ski lifts. The lift we used also was being used by those who were mountain biking.  It was neat to see many bike riders heading down the trails.  Our kids enjoyed waving at the mountain bikers and bikes as they went by on the chair lift.

We were also hosted on a river rafting experience with Jim Thorpe River Adventures located at the Lehighton Outdoor Center.  This was an experience of a lifetime and an adventure that we have always wanted to do but never have.  I was nervous at first because I wasn't sure what I was getting us into.  I had envisioned huge rapids and being thrown overboard, none of which happened!  Blue Mountain Resort scheduled us the easiest river outing that Jim Thorpe River Adventures offers-Easy Water.

Food and Dining Options

When you stay at Blue Mountain Resort in one of the Glamping Sites, you get the option of adding on food packages for breakfast and dinner.  You can get eggs, bacon, and pastries delivered to your site along with two options for dinner-Roughing It or The Glamper. The Roughing It Package has hotdogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, rolls, and cookies.  The Glamper Package offers you marinated steaks or chicken, shrimp skewers, corn on the cob, grilled cheddar bacon potato pack, and chocolate-covered strawberries.  You also have the option of adding Chocolate Fondue and Adult Beverages.   Check out Blue Mountain Resort's Glamping Page for more information and pricing on the food options!

While Glamping at Blue Mountain Resort, you have the option of dining at their Slope Side Pub and Grill.  You should eat one meal here.  The views are AMAZING and the food is fresh and delicious!  If you don't want to leave your Glamping Site, you can choose to order from Slope Side and have it delivered right to your tent! Talk about convenience!

Staff

Blue Mountain Resort didn't disappoint with their staff!  The staff was AMAZING.  The staff went above and beyond.  They truly want you to have the best time while staying at their resort.

I can't say enough about Josh and Camey, the main staff members that helped us while we stayed at the resort. Josh was our chauffeur and took us to our site and went over every detail and amenity with us.  He brought our food and helped with anything that we needed.

Camey was our contact person. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable.  She was who we texted to schedule a pick-up, confirm our restaurant delivery, or get assistance at our site.

There were other staff members that made our stay fun and we can't thank them enough.  From the lift to our site from Jim to Vin who helped replace a busted propane tank to Carl who eagerly made our kids' experience at the Ropes Course memorable the staff is GREAT and get 5 STARS from us on their hospitality!

Experience

This was the BEST experience for our family.  My husband and I use to camp and be outdoors as much as possible before our twins were born.  This was a great way to introduce our children to camping!  If you are someone who is nervous about camping or you don't like sleeping on the ground, a Glamping Trip to Blue Mountain Resort is a GREAT alternative to camping.

The resort offers many family-friendly activities along with other options for those that don't have children or who come for an adult getaway.  This place would be perfect for a bachelorette or bachelor party, a birthday party, or get away without the kids.  You can enjoy mountain biking, zip-lining, or one of the many other adventures they offer.  You can also schedule a rafting trip or head into Jim Thorpe for the day!

Our children enjoyed the morning playing on the Sunset Course, the easiest ropes course and suitable for young kids.  It is completely enclosed by nets and a little bit off the ground.  It was fun to watch them running around and being carefree.  Next time we go we will definitely spend more time at the Summit Adventure Camp!

After the ropes course, we enjoyed a scenic lift ride of the Pocono Mountains.  It truly is the BEST view of the Pocono Mountains!  Finley and Harper enjoyed waving at all the people and watching the mountain bikers.  My husband and I enjoyed the view and talking about our trip.  It was neat to see a ski resort without snow.  We talked often about how much things will look different once they start making snow!

Blue Mountain Resort delivers when it comes to giving its guests an experience they will never forget!
