LEMONADE! I love some fresh-made lemonade on hot summer days!
My kids and I were shopping for groceries and they decided they wanted to make some lemonade! Who am I to argue with that? LOL.
Here is Harper and Finley's recipe for fresh-squeezed lemonade!
H & F's Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice, about 6-8 lemons
- 2 cups cold water and 2 to 2 1/2 cups ice
- Your favorite pitcher (I use one from Pampered Chef that has a hand mixer built-in)
* You can add more or less sugar and more or less lemon juice
Directions:
- Select 5-8 lemons and roll them on a cutting board or countertop. This allows the juices to flow better.
- You can hand squeeze or use a hand juicer to squeeze the lemons.
- Place squeezed lemons in a bowl of cold water. I use this water later for my 2 cups of water needed to mix with the sugar and juice.
- Measure 1 1/2 cups of sugar and add to pitcher.
- Add the juice of the lemons and stir a bit.
- Pour in 2 cups cold water or use the water from the bowl.
- Add in the ice and mix/stir to combine.
- Pour over ice into glasses.
- Serve with a lemon wedge.
Recipe Notes/Extras
* Cut up a lemon or two into slices and place in the pitcher
* Serve with a lemon wedge
* Cut up a lemon into small wedges and freeze in ice cup trays with water for fancy ice cubes
* Add in some vodka to make it an adult cocktail
