Edible Bunny

A cute craft you can eat!

By Nicole Hickoff-Publisher Macaroni Kid Williamsport April 3, 2021

Looking for a fun craft to do for Easter or any time of year?  Well, I have an EDIBLE craft!  All you need is some simple ingredients/materials and you are ready to go!

My kids love this craft!  It's kid-tested and easy to accomplish in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients/Materials

  • One package mini powdered sugar donuts (one per kid)
  • One package of regular-sized marshmallows (one per kid, cut in half)
  • Pink sugar-sprinkles
  • One package of candy eyeballs (2 per child); (found in the baking aisle in stores)
  • One package of chocolate pieces (m&m's)
  • A tube of white/vanilla frosting
  • Paper plate for assembling

Steps/Procedure

  1. Cut a marshmallow in half diagonally with kitchen shears.
  2. Sprinkle some pink sprinkles on a plate. Place the cut side down of the marshmallow (sticky side down) to coat the marshmallow.  (see picture)
  3. Take a donut and place it in the center of a paper plate to begin assembling the bunny.
  4. Open tube of frosting.
  5. Place a dot of frosting in the center of the donut.  Place the candied chocolate piece in the center (the bunny's nose).
  6. Place a small amount of frosting on each marshmallow (bunny's ears) and place it at the top of the donut.
  7. Use another dot of frosting to attach each candy eyeball above the candied chocolate.
  8. Look at your cute bunny, then enjoy a tasty craft!

Alternatives

  • Use other colors of sprinkles.  Make it unique!
  • Use jelly beans instead of candied chocolate.
  • Use colored frosting for a flashy bunny.
  • Use blue pearl candy pieces (found in the baking aisle in stores).
  • Use chocolate-covered mini donuts.

This is a fun craft to do with the kids any time of the year, not just Easter!
