Who doesn't love pancakes? Say "I love you" to the loves in your life with some heart-shaped pancakes. In our household, we make pancakes on Sunday! I am looking forward to trying these delicious pancakes for Valentine's Day this year. Grab these simple ingredients and a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and get cooking!
Ingredients
- 2 cups pancake mix (choose your favorite-we like buckwheat mix)
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
Utensils
- Griddle or frying pan
- Heart-Shaped Cookie cutter(s)
- Spatula
- Done Plate
Directions
- Heat griddle or pan (we use a griddle, as it gives a little more room)
- Place your heart shaped cookie cutter on the griddle
- Spray with non-stick cooking spray or put a teaspoon of butter down; be sure to spray the sides of the heart
- Mix your pancake mix, cold water, and sugar until blended and smooth-a thicker batter is better with the cookie cutters
- Use a 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup measuring cup to pour batter into the cookie cutter on the griddle
- Once the mix forms, remove the cookie cutter and flip your pancake (about 1-11/2 minutes per side)
- Continue till batter is used up
- Place the pancakes on a done plate and place them in a warm oven (I use the keep warm setting/lowest temp) till ready to serve and all pancakes are cooked
If you don't have a heart-shaped cookie cutter, you can also place the batter into a squeeze bottle and freehand your hearts!
