Hi everyone! My name is Candice Kelly. I'm an evening news anchor on Eyewitness News WBRE TV and WYOU TV. I'm excited to be a part of Macaroni Mom and part of your lives!
I have been living and working in Northeastern and Central PA since 2004. I'm originally from Minnesota and I moved here to advance my career as a journalist. I didn't initially plan on staying here, but I fell in love with a "local" and he helped me grow some roots here. We still visit Minnesota every year, but NEPA is now my home.
My husband is a state trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police. He was one of the first people I interviewed when I started working here. I thought he was so handsome. He still is. We didn't start dating until about a year after we met. He changed my life forever in the best way possible. We got married in 2008 in Key West, Florida. We figured no matter where we got married, people had to travel from Minnesota or Pennsylvania. Why not make it a warm and fun destination? Key West is our favorite place to vacation, and now it's extra special to us.
In 2012, we fell in love all over again with the birth of our daughter Grace (3). Two years later, we had a second daughter Chloe (1). I don't mean to sound cliche, but Tom and our girls make my life complete.
I love being a mom! It's the best experience in my life (even on the challenging days). I also love my job and feel very fortunate to be able to do both. Since I work second shift, I get the girls all to myself in the morning. My husband usually works during the day. When I leave for work in the afternoon, we sort of high-five the parenting duties. He gets them all to himself at night. It's not easy walking out that door some days, but it's something I have to do right now for my girls and myself.
